ProAge welcomes Castles Technology as a Founding Member
Technology and innovation are intrinsically linked, each driving the other forward. In a word association exercise, descriptors such as innovative, youthful, and dynamic readily spring to mind. The prevailing stereotype of professionals in this field skews towards younger individuals, predominantly male. This perception influences the culture within the IT and tech industry. According to a CW Jobs survey, 41% of workers in the IT and tech sector report encountering age discrimination, a significant increase over the 27% reported in other sectors throughout the UK.
Innovation and technology are key to the country’s long-term economic growth and development in terms of contribution to GDP. We need to ensure that future career opportunities are open to people of all ages and backgrounds.
Castles Technology is a global payments company, operating in more than 150 countries around the world. In the UK and across Europe, the company employs approximately 200 people in a variety of roles from technology and engineering to manufacturing and customer care. Castles Technology's philosophy fosters creativity and innovation, nurturing a sense of belonging and inclusion among team members.
We are delighted to be working with ProAge to promote age inclusivity in the workplace. As a growing business across the EMEA region, we are always looking at ways to be the employer of choice and its very important that we look at attracting both younger workers to our organisation, as well as making sure we offer great opportunities for people in the over 50 age bracket. ProAge will help us, and other organisations promote age inclusion in the workplace.

“Since the beginning of our journey, Castles Technology have been a strong supporter of ProAge and we are delighted to welcome them on board as a Founding Member. We have worked with Castles Technology on an audit to help them understand where they are on their age inclusion journey, and they have generously shared their experiences in offering flexible working arrangements to their employees in a report that we will be releasing in the coming weeks. We are looking forward working on more projects in the future to promote age inclusion so that we can all learn from each other and build stronger, multigenerational teams,” says Mike Mansfield, CEO of ProAge.
